Udad dal- onion chutney





NO COCONUT REQUIRED

1 big onion(sliced)
...
2tbsp udad dal
4 no. Red dry chillies
1 1/2 tbsp tamarind pulp
Salt
1/2 tsp oil

1.Heat a pan.. Add onion slices n dry roast until it withers.( do not roast brown, leave it slightly crunchy)
2. Remove onions from pan n keep aside.
3. Now add oil in pan n fry udad dal in low flame until light brown.
4. Add red dry chillies over dal n fry together for 1 min.
5. Switch off heat n let it cool.
6. In a mixie , add fried udad dal n redchilly mix + tamarind pulp + 1/4 portion of roast onions + salt
Add required water n grind to chutney consistency.
7. Wen done, add remaining roast onions n switch on mixie in least power. Onions now added should b coarsely grinded.
Serve chutney with chapathi or paranta.
