snake gourd/ridgegourd dal




1 cup turdal
1 cup ridgegourd/snake gourd[cut to small pieces]
1tsp jeera seeds
2 tsp freshly crushed pepper
3-4 green chillies[sliced]
5-7 curry leaves
1/4 cup fresh coriander[finely chopped]
1/2 tsp haldi powder
salt
1tbsp butter.


Pressure cook tur dal with water. Churn well n keep aside.
Melt butter in a sauce pan, add jeera seeds.
when it crackels,add together green chillies, curry leaves n fresh coriander.saute till curry leaves get crispy.
add haldi powder , ridgegourd or snakegourd n salt. mix
sprinkle little water, cover and cook till the vegetable becomes soft.
finally add cooked dal . adjust salt.
serve hot with rice.
